Is it a bold claim that employing Saunders Brothers as your builder is a little different – and preferable – to hiring some other company? Perhaps, but we think the facts are on our side.
Employing a Builder When you hire a builder to work on your house while you’re still trying to live your life there, they need to be competent of course, but they also need to realise they’re disrupting your home and minimise that disruption, to be responsible, considerate, trustworthy and pleasant as well as competent.
Can we prove our site teams can do that? Well, if three homes in one short cul-de-sac built extensions, and one after the other, they all hired the same builder, the same team and the same site manager as had built the first one, that must say something – one customer did actually say:

Safety In one sense, safety should be included in the qualities listed above but it’s so vital it needs a note of its own. Construction is officially regarded as a hazardous industry but safe, responsible systems of working, with all the precautions the Company (and the law) insist on and using all their knowledge and experience to stay safe and keep others safe, that’s how our site staff avoid accidents on site - and their record is top-class. Accidents involving clients? Zero. Not ever - it’s got to stay like that and we know we can make it do so.

Clean and Tidy Sites There’s no denying that building makes a mess – or as we would put it, “It makes a lot of mess we need to clean up.” The service we’re there to provide does not include a lot of mud and dust tramped into your home – plus, it’s a fact that a clean site is a safe site. There’s no denying that, so by cleaning up after ourselves, we help keep ourselves and our clients both happy and safe. Fortunately, our clients have noticed, and they approve:

In-house Facilities Many builders hire in the plant they need for each contract – with some reason. The hire company has to comply with the inspection and maintenance regime legally required for construction plant. The hire companies carry the cost and include it, plus a profit, in their prices. It’s in their interest to keep that cost down.
Saunders Brothers own the vast majority of their plant and have to pay the maintenance and inspection costs. So we’re in control of the condition of our plant on site. It’s in our interest to give our men good plant in safe reliable condition to work with. It helps them work better and safer and earn the tributes so many of our customers have paid them.
Our well-equipped and highly skilled in-house joinery company manufactures doors and windows from quality hardwood for many of our projects but they can and do provide so much more – bespoke internal and external joinery – non-standard sizes or shapes, curved tops, even round or oval “ox eye” windows, external doors and garden gates to client’s designs, or duplicated for listed buildings – and they arrive the same day as the installers. Because it’s in-house, we control both manufacturing and installation.
Putting the Client First Every company would say they do this but do they have a track record to prove it? Have they built three extensions in the same cul-de-sac because the neighbours just liked dealing with their teams so much?
